Having a multilingual website is great things which means having customers and readers from multiple countries. The good news about multi lingual SEO is that doing multilingual SEO is almost similar to doing SEO for an English website. You just need to do the same things in a different language. Here are some guidelines for you to follow when you plan f=doing SEO for your multilingual website.

The first thing you need to do is to translate your keywords into the new language. It is a good idea to employ a native language speaker from that country to do this job since the lingual styles and perceived meaning of words different from place to place. In a case you can't find a matching word for your key, you will have to look for new keywords for your website.

Translate existing web content. Again, translations can sometimes be squirrelly. Unless you're an expert in the language to which you're translating, hire someone to do it for you. A bad translation could cost you more in lost traffic than the services of a good translator.

You can apply the same SEO rules to the new website. No matter which language it is, search engine spiders use the same algorithms and rules to positio websites in their index. Whatever rules you have applied and learned while doing SEO for your english website can be applied to the new website as well.

Include the proper links: This applies both to and from your English site to your foreign-language site, but also includes the appropriate links to English on the foreign-language site.

Make sure the links to the different language versions are obvious in the website. If you don't make them clear yours visitors might miss them and you will lose potential customers.

Search Engine Optimization is really no different in any other language than it is in English. The biggest concern when translating your site to another language is the actual translation. The search engine optimization efforts are essentially the same, but mangling the translation could cost you just as much as not having a foreign-language site at all.
