Interesting Discussion About The Advantages Of Reverse Phone Lookup Services

Typical phone directories, whether those old fashioned paper ones with the small print, or the newer on-line types, are commonly used to find telephone numbers of people or businesses whose names are already known. In this way people may make and receive the business or personal calls that they obtained their service for in the first place. Reverse phone lookup serves exactly the opposite purpose in that it allows for retrieval of the identity information of a record service holder for a specific, known number.

With the advent of caller ID it became possible for customers to see who is calling them even before answering the call. The notable exception is with unlisted numbers which are not identified and will not be divulged to non government individuals. Some 800 numbers and cell numbers are not be identified either.

There are ways to discover the identity of people calling you, however. If you are getting repeat calls from a number you do not recognize, you can do a reverse phone number browser search under that number. There are sites that specialize in posting comments from others who have been harassed or repeatedly called by people who will not identify themselves or are somehow abusive or evasive.

You may find that others have received the same type of calls from that number. Eventually there will be a post from someone who has identified the number as belonging to XYZ Collection Agency, ABC Call Center Marketers, or Such And Such Insurance Agency. More often you will not find anything on the number you are investigating.

There is still a way to find out the owner of many numbers by doing a phone look up with one of several services that provide reverse phone information for a small one time fee, or a longer term unlimited usage rate. These services are commonly used by private investigators and others who may need this type of service regularly in their line of work.

These are useful services and will produce a lot of personal information about the person. Still unlisted numbers are not accessible in this way. While some of these services claim to be free, the free information is limited to whether the number is for a cell or land line, and which city it is in. Any useful information will need to be paid for.

The information can be well worth the fee, especially if you can find out who is repeatedly harassing you, whose number fell out of your spouse's pocket, or what your employees are doing instead of working. It is a small price to pay for peace of mind.

Reverse phone lookup can get you the identity of, and a lot of public record information about the owner of a telephone number, for a small charge. You may also be able to determine their age, address, interests and other information.
